  • The 2nd China-America Precision Radiotherapy Forum Is Successfully Held in the College

  • From September 20 to 23, the 2nd China-America Precision Radiotherapy Forum organized jointly by the College of Public Health and Administration, Radiobiology Key Lab of the Hygiene and Health Committee, and Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering Precision Radiotherapy Branch, and Chinese Society of Radiology and Protection Branch was successfully held in the conference room of Qiuxin Building. President Xiaokun Li attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech. Over 40 scholars and experts from China and America have conducted extensive discussion at the forum.


    President Xiaokun Li warmly welcomed all the scholars and experts and introduced the history, academic programs, talent cultivation, and research and innovation conducted in the school. He pointed out that radiation oncology as one of the most thriving medical specialties has made outstanding achievements in terms of technology and equipment in the last 20 years. He believes Wenzhou Medical University will greatly benefit from experts’ research findings and practices.


    This forum will cover the new technological applications in Radiobiology, Medical Physics, Radiation Oncology, and photon, proton, and heavy ion radiotherapy, particularly the applications, principles and limitations of focused radiobiology in clinical radiotherapy. Professor Tom K.Hei from Columbia University introduced the progress made in ionizing radiation target effect and non-target effect; Cheng-Shie Wuu showcased the achievements made in small animal image guided radiotherapy system; Professor Zhimin Yuan from Harvard University introduced the radiation reaction of P53 pathway; Professor Wei Luo from University of Kentucky introduced radiobiological model of brachytherapy; and many clinical physicians and experts from Navy General Hospital, General Hospital of PLA, Shandong Tumor Hospital, Beijing Hospital, Hefei Institute of Physical Studies of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Navy Military Medical University, Beijing University, Fudan University, and Suzhou University also shared their research findings and practical experience gained in precise radiotherapy.
